Bergamotto di Calabria
Buy nowBergamot, known for its distinctive aroma, has long been used in the perfumery industry and natural cosmetics. Over the years, the potential to enhance this precious Calabrian fruit has been increasingly recognized, creating a combination of olives and the extra virgin oil from the Luigi Tega mill.
Ingredients
Organic extra virgin olive oil, organic bergamot
Production Technique
Simultaneous co-pressing of olives and bergamots
Bergamot is a citrus fruit almost exclusive to the Calabria region, characterized by an intense green color which, towards maturation, fades towards yellow. The scent of the juice and even more of the peels is inebriating and enveloping, with woody notes almost of resin. The uniqueness of bergamot lies in the sensation evoked by the aroma which fits perfectly with cuisines that love a touch outside the box, with an at times exotic flavour.
Where do organic bergamots come from to create our bergamot oil.
Production
Bergamot citrus oil is made mainly through the simultaneous co-pressing of olives and bergamots. The result is an olive oil that retains all the flavors and properties of the essential oils present in the peel, rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, which, together with the polyphenols present in the oil, bring great benefits for our health.
